Take a look behind the scenes and see what community ideas and other improvements we are working on, as they are being developed.
Print all
Based on an idea from visentin on the english community and h.lenton on the dutch community, we can now introduce a great new feature.
You can print all the related documents of a group of applicants for a vacancy at once, without the need of opening/downloading each individual file. This could be helpful if you quickly want to have all information on paper and do your assessment from there.
Just select from which applicants you want to print the documents, you can also use "select all", "select all on this page" or make individual selections. Then click on the new option "Print selected applications":

Now a pop-up appears asking you want it is you want to print. CVs, motivation letters, etc. You can also select "Cover page", making a cover page for the printset of each applicant with some basic information.

Note that your selection possibilities follow the way how you have setup peoplexs, so the list of files to choose from is different from customer to customer. Though the CV, cover page and other document options will always be there.
When you click the "print selected applications" option in the pop-up a PDF is generated and opens. From here you can print the file, or save it your disk, attach to a mail, etc.
The above works the same for the managersportal, so also linemanagers or committee members can use print all. Depending on the size of the files and the number of applicants/documents you have selected this could take a while. In that case peoplexs reports back to you that the PDF is being generated so you can work on something else. When the PDF is ready for print you will get an email with a link to where you can get the PDF.
There is one additional option, and that is that you can create your own cover page. This can be done by setting up a custom form with the fields and layout as you like it, and then use this form as the cover page. You can change the cover page in "setup - customise - candidates - print-all settings":

This will be a paid feature, and our account managers are working on a pay-per-use model, more info will follow soon.
Enjoy this great new feature and remember to use it with care for the environment !

Limit file size
Based on an idea of @chusersg a new option is introduced to limit the file size of attachments when applying.
This could be helpfull if you have recruiters working with slow connections and to make their life easier you could limit the file size of CVs that candidates can attach to their applications.
You will see a new option when you add a file field (like a CV) to the application form where you can enter a limit for the file size in MB's:

Leaving it empty will mean the overall limit of 20Mb will apply.
Next, you want to decide on an error message you want to present the applicant when he/she would attach a file that is larger then the limit. You can edit this message in the setup of the form:

That's all, would the candidate apply with a too large file, he/she will receive the error message and an additional "back" option, guiding the candidate back to the original form as he/she left it with all data intact.

Note there are some usability issues with this change. The file-size is first know when the file has been completely uploaded to the server. So if a candidate has a large CV and maybe has to wait a while for his file to upload, he will then get the error message that his file is too large. That will give also give some frustration, so the frustration is not gone but we have moved it from the recruiter to the applicant. If you would decide to use this limitation there should be a least a clear message on the application form about the size limit and that the application will be refused if the file is too large.
This change is only in effect when you would use it in setup, your current application forms are not affected by this change.

Committee ratings
When your organisation is using committees to approve and rate applicants, the following improvement can be something for you.
Until now the available approval rating was a fixed value: high, middle or low. The approval rating was entered by a committee member:

You can now define your own rating system. Rename and translate the current values, and add/delete new values. The rating values are stored in a picklist which you can change in the setup, go to "setup - customise - applications - picklists":

The new rating values can be used by the committee members. In the next example I have changed it into a very common rating system of A, B, C and D:

If you are happy with your current rating system you do not have to do anything. The standard will remain high, middle and low.
Additionally, we have made the final rating which is usually made by the chairman of the committee (depending on your setup) available in custom reports, filters and forms. Making the committee result more transparant through the whole system. These final ratings are available for all ratings that are entered in the system after this change has go into effect.

Managing tasks and notifications of subsidiaries
Based on an idea of @chusersg, we made it easier to distinguish between tasks and notifications for a manager's own department and his/her subsidiary departments.
The task list now only shows the tasks related to applications in the manager's own department:

By clicking the "all tasks" option, also tasks related to subsidiary departments are shown:

It is also made possible to control the reception of notification mails. The manager can in setup indicate if he/she wants to receive notification mails for his own department or also for his/her subsidiary departments:

Together, these new options will make it easier for the manager to distinguish between his/her own and subsidiary departments.

Combined candidate overview
Based on an idea from @MarjolieinLim on the Dutch community we introduced a combined overview for a candidate on the managersportal.
There were seperate links to the information candidate info, status (history) and documents. Now this is all combined in one overview which you see when you open a candidate and then scroll down. Below the general candidate info you will see the additional status and correspondance information:

From the overview you can continue directly with a status update or with a new mail, without having to return to the previous candidate list and choose the option from there.

Location tracker
Based on the idea from @visentin, to make it a little easier for users to see if they are inside a candidate, account, vacancy, etc. we added the corresponding colors to the side navigation buttons as you can see below:

You'll note that the colors are indicated by arrows point to the right. This has been done to guide users to the correct part of their screen. This creates a natural focus on the information right of the side bar and at the same time the color reminds of you of the type of object you're working on.

Applicationscounter
In the category very small improvements: a counter is added that shows how many applications there are with a vacancy. It reacts to any search criteria you might use and is updated accordingly.

Save draft mail
This is a nice upcoming feature from the Dutch community, an idea by sdejonge.
Are you typing a long mail but have to leave it to do something else? No need to start all over again or save it outside of peoplexs, now you can save it as a draft.
Were you busy typing a long mail and went to lunch, returning late and found yourself logged out of peoplexs in the meanwhile? Your mail is still there! It has automatically been saved as a draft:

Report on vacancy and status, including applications
The last update for the november release! One more new report type is introduced, the third in this release: "Vacancies - with applications & task history":

The new report type enables reporting on vacancies and vacancy status information information, including applications. Note that this is different from the existing report type "Vacancies - with applications & applications task history", as the last one shows status information from the applications for the vacancy, not status information for the vacancy itself.

Delay publishing of job on website until start date
Two ideas were posted simultaneously on the community, Publish job vacancies ahead, by @rm, and Postpone start date when publishing a vacancy, by @tas.balk.dk. Both basically describe the same thing. First publish the vacancy on the website when the start date is reached.
This has now been implemented. Note that when you publish the vacancy it is still marked as "unpublished". When the start date is reached, this will automatically change to "published".
